Bleeks Pawnbrokerage and Goods
Located in a small side street in the border areas where the GaartenKwarteer and the SchaapsKwarteer meet lies an establishment known as Bleeks Pawnbrokerage and Goods, a Pawnbrokers run by the eponymous Bleek. It has a narrow fronting (about 25 feet wide) with thick rippled glass windows that never seem to be cleaned and the traditional 3 hanging balls of the Pawnbroker, but inside it extends far back into a long area with shelves crammed with all manner of items, trinkets, goods and more. A long horseshoe shaped counter runs the length of the main shop area, with more valuable items (and more dangerous ones too, like weapons and such) kept high on display there. There is a beaded curtain that is behind the counter at the far end, and even a small library of books for sale.
Bleek himself is regarded as a man of possible dubious legality (it is a well known secret that he acts as a fence too, with the Watch and authorities turning a blind eye) and he does not take deposits, but he is regarded as trustworthy as far as fences and pawnbrokers go. He sells goods at 20% less than they can be bought elsewheres and in good working condition, though he offers less for what he buys (though a more in line price for pawned goods) to make up the difference. Many things can be found here, though for the more action oriented adventuring type, it always seems to be weapons and armour in particular; funny that.
He has smaller private rooms in the back that he shows selected customers more rarified and unusual items, but that’s something for another day.
